Internship opportunities at HOERBIGER for Polymer students

Internship Polymer Fine Grinding: 

During this internship, the successful candidate will participate and lead portions of a project in the area of Polymer Fine Grinding. The intent of this project is to ramp-up and optimize the new polymer fine grinding machine and the fine grinding process to have i.e. standardized set-up parameters and a material removal rate to be used for router generation. During your internship you will learn on the job experience with process improvement projects and the proper structure, gain insight into the polymer fine grinding process by hands-on use, and learn about injection molding and how the processing of the polymer will affect the fine grinding process. These will be learned through hands-on use and through being mentored by an engineer. 

 

Internship CP Automation Plate (polymer valve plate) 

During this internship, the successful candidate will participate and lead portions of a project in the area of Industrial Engineering. The intent of this project is to support production start up/ramp up of new CNC equipment and further development of the new standard processes in Pompano Beach, FL. During your internship you will learn project management, manufacturing processes, cycle time studies, routing standards, 5S, conflict resolution, layouts and work flow (lean / efficiencies) and presentation skills. These will be learned through the supporting the project manager with the production ramp up phase of new equipment in the facility. Certain tasks may include: daily meetings with front line operators for issues, determining KPI to track the productivity and success, becoming an extension of the quality department to solve quality problems that might arise, or performing trials to continuously improve the efficiencies or quality of the products produced in the cell.
